On February 20th, 2020, Metropolitan Tirana University welcomed a workshop organized in the framework of the MARDS project named “Digitalization in Tourism for Sustainable Development”.
After the welcome of the President of Metropolitan Tirana University, Mr. Arjan Çukaj, and the remark of Prof. Betim Çiço (the Albanian Coordinator of the MARDS project) and Prof. Asoc. Ozcan Asilkan (Dean of tthe Faculty of Computer Science and IT) the workshop followed with the following presentations:
– “How to Develop Smart Tourism by means of Academic Studies?”, Prof. Dr. Betim Çiço
– “Blockchain Technologies & Big Data”, Dr. Nikos P. Frydas
– “Digital Transformation in Tourism”, Prof. Dr. Özcan Asilkan
– “A Personalized and Selective Approach on Tourism Services and Products”, Prof. Dr. Edmond Panariti
– “Regional Opportunities of Doctoral Studies in Tourism”, Dr. Eva Cipi.
The workshop concluded with a round table discussing the role of regional doctoral Studies in tourism.
